The Straightshots are distinguished by their straight design and straight-cut end caps. Beneath the heat shields, Vance & Hines engineering relies on 2-1/4" (5.7 cm) mufflers welded directly to 1-3/4" (4.45 cm) headers. This mechanical design optimizes gas velocity to ensure increased mid-range performance and deliver the brand's traditional Hot-Rod rumble: a clear, heavy, and deeply authentic sound.

Full-Length One-Piece Heat Shields

To preserve the long-lasting shine of your machine, the Straightshots system integrates 2-1/2" (6.35 cm) diameter one-piece chrome heat shields. Precisely cut with plasma arc, these heat shields cover the entire line (headers and mufflers). They form a total thermal barrier that insulates the inner steel and virtually eliminates any risk of discoloration, yellowing, or superficial bluing.

Technical Notes and Mounting Specifics

• Lambda sensor management: The headers have native 18 mm threads to accommodate oxygen sensors.

  • For models prior to 2007 (carburetor or early injection): Since these machines do not use oxygen sensors, installing appropriate blanking plugs is necessary to properly seal the header ports.

• Mounting exclusions: This line is specifically curved for traditional Softail frames. It is not suitable for Rocker / C (FXCW/C) models, or for original Screamin' Eagle (SE) and CVO engines.
